New Day, New BSOD
A few days ago, my computer stopped working and wouldn't reboot. Because I had been getting some BSODs and all of my data was backed up, I chose to do a factory reset. Since then, I have been on live chat support with HP for a couple of hours, updated the BIOS, installed all of the Windows Updates I could (except one that keeps getting left off when my system is recovered over and over again), updated my drivers from the HP website, reseated my RAM modules, restarted with each RAM module on its own (without incident), run the Hard Drive and RAM tests in the BIOS shell (both of which found no problems), slaughtered a chicken, and smoked a turkey.
I'm still getting BSODs and/or randomly not being able to get my computer to boot and/or resume from a hibernation state. I'm hoping you can help.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (OEM). I bought the system in January, 2010. I reinstalled the OS (if this counts) when I did the factory reset just last week, on November 24th.
Although I only have 3 dump files in my minidump directory, I have had at least 10 BSODs since the factory reset.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give. I'm still under warranty for about 6 weeks, so I'm more than willing to put that warranty to use if you just tell me this thing is a POS.
Cheers!
Rob
