Constant Crashing
Hey Guys,
I was wandering if anyone had any advice on the following? I recently had a major boot issue with my PC and after much installing, formatting HDD and reinstalling my OS (Windows 7), I came to the conclusion that it was time for a hardware overhall.
I'd been getting some BSOD relating to RAM (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA) and some IRQL BSOD's too, so I figured it was time to replace both the Hard Drive and the RAM, as these were the usual suspects when it came to crashes.
However, I'm now getting STOP BSOD's for 0000007E and 00000124, which I'm pretty sure is graphics related. This would also tie in with some other issues I've been having, namely with Flash crashing intermittantly and with several Games that I've not been able to play past 20 minutes max, before 'an unexpected error' occurs and it crashes to desktop, normally to be followed with a BSOD if it's not already done so.
Now, I've done the usual of reinstalling drivers and completing memtest just to be sure however as this is a brand new HD and a completely new install of Windows 7, I'm going to assume that the prime suspect here is in fact the Graphics card and not the HD, BUT... I have been known to be wrong so my question is; Am I missing something obvious here? Is there something more I can do software wise, before changing the hardware and is the problem what I think it is?
I can supply a list of the BSOD STOP codes if needed and my system specs are enclosed below:
Windows 7 64bit
G-Force GTX260
Quad Core Q9400
4GB RAM
WD VelociRaptor WD3000BLFS 300GB 2.5" Hard Drive SATAII 10000rpm 16MB Cache
nForce 750i SLI Motherboard
If there's any advice that anyone can give, I would be eternally grateful.
