Windows 7: BSOD 1033--at my wits' end

06 Dec 2010   #11

Win 7 Pro (32 bit)

Well, Carl, I woke up to a system that was still up... until I started going through my Outlook reminders and it crashed (BSOD). Not one I've seen recently (don't ask me what it was). Then, when I finally got it to boot into Windows "normally," I was unable to connect at all to the 'net. No matter what I tried, I didn't have permission to start the Diagnostic Policy Service even logging in as Admin. This seemed to be Win's major complaint. In absolute frustration, I cleaned my install disc and was able to get a repair reinstall done. Just have to go check drivers again. And keep my fingers crossed!

My sincere condolences on your loss. The pride I'm sure you have in all your offspring must have been sorely damaged. These kinds of stabs in life never completely heal, do they?

Guess we should close this thread down so I can try to address the permission issues I (still) have! I can't thank you enough for all your help and hanging in there with me. For now, I have GOT to get some work done!
