Sleep Not Waking Well. Need Setup Help
I have always had terrible luck with computers sleep modes so I have avoided it.
Now I want to tackle it. The last time I tried (recently) it was sitting there asleep and I hit the space bar and she turned her fans and HDD's on and seemed to be coming up and then seemed to shut off or reboot. The display was dark so I don't know what it was doing but it was a endless cycle until I held the power button in for 4 seconds to shut it down. The cycles would last 5 seconds. I do not remember hearing the Mobo Beep.
I just came from a dual booting Vista/Win 7 setup to Windows 7 only so have a fresh formatted system and install of Win 7 Pro.
I would like some guidance in setting up the machine to go to sleep after an hour of idle time.
I have a backup program that has a option to wake the PC when a scheduled backup time arrives. I hope that will work too but for now I just want her to go to bed and get up like a good girl.
My system specs have been updated and I am comfortable working with the BIOS if needed.
