    BSOD in XP Installation

Hi, would appreciate if someone fixes this asap...

I want to dual boot my system (Sony VAIO VGN-NS25G) with Windows XP. I can't use Virtual Machines because my CPU doesn't support Hardware Virtualization. So my only choice was to dual boot Windows XP.

I created a 25GB partition (off Disk Management), formatted as NTFS. Loaded the XP Pro SP3 CD. It starts loading files from the CD. When it says "Setup is loading Windows", for couple of seconds... it crashes and gives me a blue screen of death.

It did not create crash dump (because it wasn't booted into Windows), just gives me a message, similar to this:

    STOP: 0x00000007B

I do really need Windows XP on my system as soon as possible.
Please feel free to expand more info.

    Can anyone PLEASE help?

    Cheers,
    DeanP

    Hi

Have you tried with a different XP media if someone could lend you one?
Other things to check - can you try booting from the CD and working the formatting and partitioning from the install route rather than from within disk management? Another thing, are you trying to load XP after 7?

    Regards

    Different XP Media -
lended from next door (home edition sp2) - bsod.
    Dad's XP SP2 Professional - bsod.

This is what the problem looks like (Youtube Video) (the video does not personally belong to me).

Have you tried formatting (full format) the HDD before trying the install route?
I'm assuming that all your important data has been copied off the laptop.

If you want me to do that, that's k then. I will create a hard drive image of Win 7, wipe the out disk out and format it as NTFS.

Will reply back in about 1 or 2 days.

Use Software emulation available in XP mode and VirtualBox
