Dell Laptop Crashes on Login. BSOD!

    Hello,

My name is Nicolas, and tonight, I was working on my Dell M1330 laptop, on Adobe Photoshop CS5 when my computer suddenly shut down, completely ( Hard Shut Down) with no warning, I was pretty mad, but decided to reboot it, I thought the worse was over, but no. Here is what is happening.

    1. Press On button
    2. Start Windows Normally
    3. Go on logon screen and logon
    4. Blue screen of Death ( sometimes I have no time, sometimes it logons and then crashes with BSOD.
    5. BSOD hangs until I hard shut down the laptop.

The thing is when i can logon and actually do stuff, the only thing i can do is start programs, the explorer is there but it does not work, just a white windows with the busy mouse when there should be folders.

Trust me I am not an amateur in computer technology but this has me. I actually do not know what to do.

    What I tried to do:

    - I tried the repair option when booting, did a system restore to no avail, worked for 2 minutes and then BSODed.

    - Tried Using my Windows 7 CD but the Computer does not read it.

    - Tried Memory Check and Disk check to no avail either

    - Tried Safe Mode, but same explorer problem as normal windows mode, except it does not crash.

If anyone knows a solution, or can take me through steps to reinstall windows in a different manner, while keeping my documents, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Nicolas.Prieur

Boot into safe mode with networking and follow these instructions

OK I will try this and tell you if that solved the problem, in the mean time I am downloading an ubuntu Live Cd to recover my important files.

Ok, I tried, this is probably not a virus since even safe mode crashes, i went on google chrome, and then BSODed on me 30 seconds later, the thing is whether I am on safe mode or not, i cannot go on 'my computer' or 'documents' for some strange reason.

    Sorry, any ideas?

This could be a sign of malware infection, run a scan of Malwarebytes

We need the dumps files in order to find a solution, upload the file created by the above tool here, if you still can't access 'documents' use the ubuntu live cd to upload it

The thing is I cannot even download the application it just crashes. See where i'm getting at. I think the best thing would be to reinstall the OS after i have taken my files. But the laptop will not detect my installation CD's. Wierd.

But the laptop will not detect my installation CD's
Go in the BIOS and set the DVD drive as the first boot drive
