When i put windows 7 disc into my computer, i go to repair your computer option( like i read online). under my system recovery options, i have to choose my operateing system, but there is none listed which i think is my problem. There is a load drivers option can i use that? i really need help this fast.

More than likely your win 7 install finnally stopped operating because of left-overs from Your Vista OS that you up-graded from, and as Win 7 was being updated the two Os's became confused to a point that your boot didn't know from where to boot from.

This points to an unexpected I/O error.

Best advice.... Try SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
If that doesn't work, then you need to format the drive you installed Windows 7 on, and then reinstall Windows 7.

Clean Install Windows 7
There are several ways to install & over-top or on a clean HDD.
Look at the bottom of each tutorial to see if any apply to you.

The question you need to ask is...........

Do I want to stay with Vista or up-grade to Win 7?
There is also the possibility for a dual-boot.

Eventually somewhere down the line you will want to access Vista because that is where your life resides, and you will want to transfer all your work to win 7.

Have you made back-ups for your vista OS, and programs before you decided to upgrade to 7? If not you may very well be S-O-L.
But, your Vista System Restore partition on your machine may save you if it hasn't been disturbed.

The up-grade should be installed where the Vista-OS resided, and from here I really can not tell you which partition that was on.

The pix below shows how mine is set-up.
