Snap or "Smart Window Arrangement" Problem

So I've recently encountered a problem with this feature of Windows 7, and I'm wondering if anyone here has any information on it. Basically, it's recently changed from what it used to be. An example of what it's looking like now is here:

But yeah, it's gone from a shadow to simply a box.

There are also some programs with which this feature is not working at all (Windows Media Player, iTunes, Etc.). This malfunction is my main problem. I'm just wondering if there's any way of fixing this. I recently ran a defrag, if that changes anything.
