    Consistent BSODS and Hard Freezes

I bought all my computer parts from the same retailer 3 months ago and ever since the computer has been built, it has suffered from a ridiculous array of BSODs and hard freezing. I've managed to get most of them rectified (BIOS not supporting the CPU for one) and have since started getting them slightly less frequently but still the same issues, which are BSODs and hard freezes. When I say hard freezing I mean the entire computer freezes and I can't alt tab or bring up the task manager. I have to physically restart my machine.

Anyway, I figure you may need my parts so here: https://i.imgur.com/0mkyF.jpg (I have not installed the aftermarket cooler yet, figured I'd get the machine working normally first).

I have had a back and forth with the retailer and they initially took my GPU for testing, which came back fine. Then, since the crashes persisted, I sent my motherboard, CPU, GPU (again) and my RAM to them for testing and they claim they were all working fine together there, but sent back new RAM just in case. The problems have persisted.

Initially I was getting all kinds of different BSOD errorcodes but the last two days I've only gotten 116 and 50 errorcodes. I am up for doing anything asked.

Here are the minidumps from the last day, I think I may have accidentally cleared the previous ones by using CCleaner: Minidump.zip - Windows Live

Any help would be amazing. Thanks!

I have the latest drivers for Windows 7 64-bit for the nVidia GTX 460. I have updated my system specs in my profile anyway though.

these were all caused by your video drivers/video card, and sptd.sys

    sptd.sys remove it

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

    Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview

This is a video timeout. The card has been reset, but the reset failed.

Remove the video driver using these and install the newest version

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

If you are overclocking, or undervolting, running a raid, or anything else nod default, restore it to default.

After uninstalling Daemon Tools lite, I ran the SPTD uninstaller but it found no SPTD version. I have removed the nvidia drivers entirely now, and am rebooting and reinstalling now.

edit: thanks for the speedy reply by the way. :)

edit2: It booted into Windows very slowly, told me it wasn't genuine, then froze and rebooted. I'm letting it reboot into Windows and see what happens. :/

edit3: it froze on the welcome screen and isn't doing anything.

OK, I have uninstalled the SPTD thing in normal Windows, deleted the graphics drivers using Driver Sweeper in Safe mode, then ran the installer in normal mode. Now Windows freezes on the Welcome screen every single time. Do you have any ideas at all?

Sorry for the triple post but as soon as I install the graphics card drivers, the computer freezes every single time on the win7 welcome screen. I'm really not sure why.

    Bump.

my computer ran for a good 3 hours on idle with no gaming involved with graphics drivers and no startup programs in msconfig. As soon as I started running the street fighter 4 benchmark, it suffered a hard freeze on the second runthrough.

I had a look at your parts list in the original post. I then went to the ASUS website and downloaded the recommended memory list for your mobo. It does not look like the memory you have is on the manufacturers list of approved memory.....maybe worth looking into for incompatability?

That could be a very likely thing indeed. I'll cross check this on the site, but for reference what link did you see that information?
