Hi.
First of all, i'm portuguese and english is not my best at all. (sorry for that).

So, my computer recently has been crashing many many times.
I've packed all my dumps and attached them. Please help me!

Mostly it occurs when I start to play games or even when i play some movies, so I presume that these BSOD's must be related to the Graphic department :)

By this time I've to create this thread under Safe Mode as this is always crashing =x

Help please. Merry xmas! ;)

You have 3 problems

1-asacpi.sys a major cause of bsod's

ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

2-ESET. remove and replace with Microsoft security essentials.

http://download.eset.com/special/ESETUninstaller.exe

http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

3-remove and re-install using these

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

That should work and thank you. The files I need will have enough English that I can figure them out. Thanks for the offer. I apologize for getting your name wrong. I looked too quickly.

I looked at your four most recent dumps. All are error code 116, which is a video error; and all blame atikmpag.sys, a video driver. Before we start troubleshooting your video card, let's look at things that can cause video conflicts. One is outdated drivers and you have some very obsolete drivers loading on your system (red font). Outdated drivers can and do cause conflicts and BSOD's. Software and hardware designed for XP and not updated for Win 7 will not run well on a Win 7 system. Update the following drivers or uninstall the software or hardware they are associated with.
ASACPI.sys Wed May 13 21:25:17 2009 - Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker in Win7). Also a part of the Asus PCProbe and AISuite Utilities. ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-. Update this driver.

ctoss2k.sys Thu Dec 08 00:04:15 2005 - Creative OS Services Driver. Creative Worldwide Support. If you cannot update this driver, you need to upgrade to a new sound card.

ctsfm2k.sys Thu Dec 08 00:04:05 2005 - Creative SoundFont Management Device Driver. Creative Worldwide Support. See above.

ctusfsyn.sys Mon Aug 07 07:33:44 2006
- Creative SoundFont Synthesizer. Creative Worldwide Support. See above.

P17xfi.sys Mon Sep 25 06:02:58 2006 - Creative WDM Audio Miniport. Creative Worldwide Support. See sbove

p17xfilt.sys Mon Jan 15 11:58:18 2007 - Creative (Sensaura) WDM 3D Audio Driver. Creative Worldwide Support. See above

PxHlpa64.sys Tue Jun 23 19:16:35 2009 - onic CD/DVD driver (used by many different CD/DVD programs) pxHelp20.sys programs
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename PxHlpa64.sys to PxHlpa64.BAK
This will break your CD/DVD program, but can easily be renamed after we've finished
Once you have taken care of the above drivers, reboot and run your system. Let's see how it does. Please update us. If you have anohter BSOD, please upload the dump. Here is some reading on your error code 116, Video TDR Failure:

There arent any updates for my sound card. So i'm unable to update the drivers.
I'm a bit out of time, and i havent got the stress test done.
But i've noticed that my GPU temperatures are bit high =x.
Which could lead the system to crash (i think?).

Dont understand why does this overheat, as I've a Zalman GS1000 and a 2 aditional fans inside the case =\

What are your GPU temps? GPU's do get hot. Right now my GPU is running 51 C and I am doing nothing graphics intensive.

You need to upgrade your sound card to one that is Win 7 compatible. If there are no driver updates for your current card, it is obsolete and not Win 7 compatible.

Sorry, i've been on vacation =|.
Back to work, i attached a GPU temp log, please feel free to check it.

I was wondering if one of my GPU's is damaged. Switching the gpu that GPU-Z reads it shows different results. Causing me to worry a bit.

Concluding that these errors may be from my graphic card, as it is going to lose the warranty on 29th of january, i'm going to change it at the store. And perhaps buy a creative titanium sound card.

You certainly want to take care of it before the warranty expires. Let us know how your system does with the new card. Did you update the outdated drivers?

I think i updated all the outdated drivers.
I ran a 3DMARK test, and after 3 seconds it crashed again.
If you have any time please take a look at these new BSOD's that i've uploaded.

Recently i read in other topic that changing Plug and Play OS to True at the BIOS, may improve the stability of the system, and now I think that the system doesnt shutdown when bluescreen.

Thanks for your time! :)

Good job on updating drivers. I looked at four dumps and they are virtually identical. All are error code 116, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. I still find two very obsolete drivers loaded on your system that could be causing the conflict. They are XP drivers. Update these two drivers or uninstall whatever they are associated with (sound card) or rename the drivers from .sys to .old. Reboot and let's see if the conflict goes away. You are going to have to upgrade your sound card to one that is Win 7 compatible.

The sound card runs ok. And as Creative does not support my sound card for windows 7 i guess i wont be able to update it in order to solve these two outdated files. And guess what? Probabily tomorrow i'll get my new video card and a creative titanium pro too. =) Will tell how does it behave.

It is not a matter of the sound card working OK. The outdated drivers can conflict with other drivers on the system and cause problems. If there are no driver updates, you need to upgrade your sound card. It is obsolete.

Ah, let us know how that new video card does.

Ok, i understand that, but when installing the new sound card i'll sweep the old drivers. And then will install the new ones (fully compatible with windows 7) for the new sound card. Right?

And, i get a little confused some days ago, what did we do to my DVD/CD-rom? We've renamed a driver so it doesnt work, but i didnt catch the point of that. Was that driver in conflit?

Yes. Install the new card and then uninstall the old card via Device Manager and then sweep the old drivers.

That driver is outdated; but it may work OK. It is a Vista driver. Once you get your system stable, rename it again and CD/DVD ROM will work. I had you rename it as part of the troubleshooting process. When you rename it again, if you start getting BSOD's, you will know it is creating conflicts.

ah ok.
Thanks again!

So, about my new hardware: the store manager decided to take my ati to France, and there it will be fixed. As when i bought my video card they didnt said to me that the full refund was only for one year. =\. He said that it will be fixed in a maximum of 30 days. About the sound card: "it's on the road", i've bought it yesterday, now it is comming to my adress.

Basicaly, i dont have my computer till the video card will come.

Being without a computer is not fun! But the bright side is that maybe this will fix the problem and the new video card will be a good performer. Post back when you get your new cards installed. I wish you a Happy New Year.
