Windows 7 32bit freezes at random
Hi, I am new to the forums and created my account for one reason. My computer which runs windows 7 home premium 32-bit continually freezes at completely random times. Normally, if i leave the computer alone for about a half hour, then it will unfreeze, but sometimes it will not and I am forced to do a hard boot. I have even had a few blue error screens. If I leave the computer idle, then it might freeze. I could be in the middle of a game, windows might freeze. I could be on any application on the computer and it will freeze. Even on the desktop where nothing else is running, it might freeze. I have had my computer freeze in each of these situations. I thought it might be the new memory that I installed in August 2010, but i removed it to see and the computer still froze. I put the new memory in, old memory out, it still froze. I thought it might be a fan problem, but when i checked, all three fans where spinning and the computer did not seem to hot. I also thought for some reason that it might be my graphics card. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics card and I disabled it to see if it was the problem. My computer worked better for a while, then froze up again. I thought it might be a cleanliness problem, so I cleaned my computer of dust, and again, it froze. I have been updating windows with every update that comes out, but nothing seems to work. I also don't think that it is a virus or program related issue because I have Microsoft Security Essentials and it still froze when I booted into safe mode. I have looked at my windows application logs and found that I had a few problems associated with 2 programs and i unistalled them. I have not had an error in my logs since except for the hard boot errors. I am running an ACPI x86-based PC with an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ with 2.00 GB of RAM and I really would like the use of my computer again. Thanks for your time.
