Strange BSOD & Crash during chkdsk/memory diagnostic
Hi all,
Ive recently had a BSOD-like crash whilst playing a game (Battlefield Bad Company 2), the monitor simply goes black and then flashes up as recieving "no signal". I then had to restart by holding down the power button and on reboot, chkdsk was recommended.
I started chkdsk but then half way through the computer did the same thing again, and crashed. Eventually after trying many times, I skipped chkdsk and then tried system restore which also crashed several times during. However, the system did somehow restore itself and I thought the issue was gone - however, just to check things I tried running windows memory diagnostic tool and it simply will not complete without doing the same thing again, and crashing half way through.
The computer seems useable, It only seems to crash during a game which leads me to think it could be display related but I have updated all my drivers, ran disk defrag, registry cleaner, virus & malware scanners galore and all turn up nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
