    Sleep problems after new install

I have the power options all set to properly deal with hybrid sleep mode. It has worked before but for some reason isn't anymore. When I start it up from keyboard nothing displays on the screen and the keyboard and mouse loose input into the system. I click restart and it flickers to the screen right away (Off of the hibernation part of hybrid sleep) and a screen pops up and says that my network manager has to be shit down (I have d-link that worked before). This is it in event viewer:

I make sure I have that option turned off, but I reinstalled the driver last night and it seemed to be back on. It is a startup program of my computer. I'm more worried that I have to restart my computer when it rsumes than problems with my network manager. It used to be that I could just press a keyboard button and it would resume. Could setting my Disk drives to AHCI from IDE have effected it?

The wireless driver is fine now, but my system still cannot wake without a restart. Only thing I did differently was enable AHCI in BIOS before reinstall. Does that effect sleep?

No, AHCI does not effect sleep lol. I've come a long way since then. Anyway, don't know what the issue was then, but I now have a USB adapter instead of internal card and I must say I like it better. Netgear, and it doesn't waste no time connecting to the internet.
