1 stick ram Stable, 2 sticks Unstable, freezing/BSOD I've been trying to tackle this problem for a while now, here are some other threads on other websites i've already posted elsewhere. http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic153121.html#post931779
(old) ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Forum- Random Win7 Lock-UP with no notification
The attached memdumps range from september to december, please give them all a look-over. I generally do not get a BSOD with this problem, I'd say it happens about 1 to every 10 times I get a freeze which the computer freezes and I cannot do anything but restart. To avoid this problem, I have found that running only 1 stick of 2gb ram I will have zero noticible issues.. I ran it this way for a month without a single freeze or bsod. the problem is I don't want to be only running 2gb for the rest of the life of this brand new x64 system. I'd like to have 8gb ram at some point.

Corsair Dominator 4GB(2x2) TW3X4G1333C9D
Corsair 750TX PSU
EVGA GTS 250
WD 1TB Caviar Black ╖ I have recently updated to the newest available bios, didn't fix the problem. ╖ Have also run memtest up to 20 passes, and with no errors. ╖ Have tried setting voltage in bios to specified 1.5v with no luck. | My System Specs |

Hello,
Have you tried running Memtest86 on the stick of RAM you took out? RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Also, uninstall Daemon Tools, as it is using SPTD. When that is done, remove SPTD with this tool: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download...t-v174-x64.exe ...Summary of the dumps: Code:

Not the first time I've seen that error, by any means. Go to C:\Windows\system32\ drivers, and delete sptd.sys. Hopefully that will do the trick. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K OC'd @ 4620 MHz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro Memory 16GB GSkill Sniper 2133 Mhz (4x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked+ Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 2x Acer S273HLbmii 27" Screen Resolution 2 x 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK320 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK320 (wireless) PSU Corsair HW Series 750w (modular) Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition Cooling CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler, 3x 230mm + 1x 140mm case fans Hard Drives 64GB Crucial M4 SSD

would this method be better to get it out of the registry Re-Installing Daemon Tools Lite (and SPTD) on Windows 7 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Ibuypower OS Win 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel I5-750 Motherboard Asus P7P55D-E PRO Memory Corsair TW3X4G1333C9D Graphics Card EVGA GTS 250 PSU Corsair 750TX PSU Case NZXT Tempest Evo Cooling Hyper212+ Hard Drives WD Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX |

Go ahead and follow the first three steps: Quote: 1.) Open regedit. And find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sptd.
2.) Delete that folder "sptd" in the registry. If you can't, just right-click the folder, and click Permissions. Ask for "Full Control". Do this also to a sub-folder of "sptd" namely "cfg" (i actually already deleted it so i forgot). Just find ways to delete the "sptd" folder in the registry.
3.) Now rename or delete the 'sptd.sys' file found on Windows\system32\ drivers. You don't want to reinstall it, though. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K OC'd @ 4620 MHz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro Memory 16GB GSkill Sniper 2133 Mhz (4x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked+ Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 2x Acer S273HLbmii 27" Screen Resolution 2 x 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK320 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK320 (wireless) PSU Corsair HW Series 750w (modular) Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition Cooling CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler, 3x 230mm + 1x 140mm case fans Hard Drives 64GB Crucial M4 SSD

amazingly, I haven't had a freeze in over a week now that daemon tools is gone! I never could have imagined a software program could single-handedly cause problems that looked like major hardware issues! Thanks for all the help.. I'll be sure to pass it on to everyone with similar problems.
Here is an advanced method for removal for anyone else having the same problems: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Ibuypower OS Win 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel I5-750 Motherboard Asus P7P55D-E PRO Memory Corsair TW3X4G1333C9D Graphics Card EVGA GTS 250 PSU Corsair 750TX PSU Case NZXT Tempest Evo Cooling Hyper212+ Hard Drives WD Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX |

Better Alternatives to Daemon tools is Free VirtualClone Drive and I like it's ease of use to mount several ISO's
And/or UltraISO (not Free), but still pretty darn good for creating ISO's etc.
I have not used UltraISO's Burner before, as I use DeepBurner Free (portable edition) to burn ISO's. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Win 7 Ultimate 32bit CPU C2D E6600 2.4Ghz Motherboard Intel D965WH Memory 4G Kingston KHX5400D2 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 HD SC (012-P3-1573-KR) Sound Card On-Board Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 226BW Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 PSU Corsair TX750W Case In-Win C589 Cooling Stock Intel Cooling Hard Drives 2 x 250 Seagate Barracuda
