Windows 7: BSOD - My server :(

30 Dec 2010   #21

Plug card back in, boot server in safe mode:

Uninstall the video card through device manager (power off server)

Take card out and plug into your onboard video again.

Or do a restore to the night before you installed the video card.

Its her desktop, Sorry - I took that HDD and put it on my server, to test and see if it was the operating system. I still got a BSOD.

yeah that wouldn't work due to the driver differences...

I think you're going to have to repair the OS (due to the driver issue)
for future reference, I wouldn't try to run a video card on a server os due to driver issues

LAN network for server/client only, USB hotspot for server internet.
A friend is moving his business, and the new business park that he's setting up shop in does not have anyway to get any wired internet to his building, excluding a T1 line, which he can't justify the cost of. One windows 7 machine acts as the server, primarily for Quickbooks database, and there...

Windows home server vs Server 2008 R2
I'm trying to decide between Windows Home Server and Windows Server 2008 R2 for my home server PC. Ordinarily it would be a clear cut choice, but I've got a free copy of Server 2008 R2 through my academic MSDN subscription. I'd like to avoid spending extra money if Server 2008 R2 would do the job....
