    BSDO after CDROM installed

Greetings! Been around for some time, but just registered. A couple days ago I tried to update a PCI Exrpress driver with Drivermax, I had condidence in that software, because it helped me move from Vista 32b to Win7 64b. Some hardware was not recognized and the software helped me with it.

Unfortunately, something wasn't right and I start gettin blue screens while shutting down. Easy solution, to format and start all over.

But now that I tried to use the software to recognize my CDROM and Intel's IMEI I got the blue screen once again. All I have is Win7 Home Premium with the critical updates, and additional ones for some hardware.

Gateway says it supports Vista 64bit, but is not true, and drivers on their page seem incomplete.

    Gateway GT4224m
    Windows 7 64bit Retail version
    Upgraded from Vista 32bit

Thanks, hope it can be solved

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff88006401127, The address that the exception occurred at
    Arg3: fffff8800637e9b8, Exception Record Address
    Arg4: fffff8800637e220, Context Record Address

Hello Carl, thanks for helping me.

I got new Intel drives directly from them, then tried Conexant, but there doesn't seem to be any update on their audio files via Gateway.

Actually, if the machines is shut down after some hours and you turn it off, the high definition audio driver is not loaded and win7 says it has issues detecting the hardware, if you disable and enable HDA in windows device manager, the driver is loaded and there is audio.

The machine came with Sigmatel Audio, also, it seems they stop updating their software long time ago. Tried to substitute with IDT audio, but also fails to load on startup.

Also, that Pure TV tuner from Vixs is not updated anymore. Guess I'll have to disable that piece of hardware. I uninstalled it and haven't had BSDO.

Now it's only that issue with the audio, it used to work before. Is there anything I can do to deal with that issue, or I should get used to it from now on?

    Thanks, once again!

Try re-installing the newest correct driver in compatibility mode.

    (right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS)

That is probably a good idea. The audio guys aren't likely to see it here.
