    Crashes every few hours...

Thanks in advance for anyone who helps!

    Is Windows 7 . . .
    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
    - the original installed OS on the system? W7 Pro
    - an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? 1 year
    - What is the age of OS installation 1 year

These crashes occur once every few hours, and when the system is at a low load, so I am never around to witness this. Windows automatically restarts.

I've used Driver Sweeper and Device Doctor. All of my drivers are up to date, especially ATI drivers. I've also removed my STPD drivers per this thread (which I think I share many commonalities with) I've attached the report from Speccy so you can see my system specs.

I've run Memtest, Prime95, overnight with no problems. That's the strange thing -when under a heavy load the uptime is good, but when idle it will crash.

None of my chips are overclocked.

You have 3 durmp files and they all show your Graphics driver as the cause. Please update driver.
Also please remove your virutualization software and the corresponding driver SPTD. Follow instructions given below.

    Atikmdag.sys file description
    Productname: ATI Radeon Family
Description: ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver
    Company: ATI Technologies Inc.

The reports that you have submitted reveal clues to the cause of your problem. They do not give a definitive answer. The more reports that we receive the more clues are made available improving our chances of finding a solution to your problem. You may have to experience several more BSODs until the final answer is discovered.

    If overclocking restore normal settings

    SFC /scannow
    System Files - SFC Command

    Scan with your Anti Virus

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done:

    Hey Richard,

I have done as you suggested. Updated the video drivers again (although, from the dump file, it looks like they were already updated). The same crash happened again. I am uninstalling the SPTD driver, and I'll keep this updated with any developments.

    Thanks

    Hey Rich,

Removing the SPTD driver really helped to stabilize the system at minimum load, thanks! I ran Prime95 for 24+ hours and the system did not crash. However, recently I booted up a game and experienced a frequent error - buzzing sound, jittery control followed by a BSOD - something about clock interval secondary processor issues. Anyways, I've attached the dump file; if anyone can take a look I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

This report was inconclusive. So why not see what we can do by updating the old drivers. Any MS drivers can be ignored.

    How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    Hey Rich,

Thank you for all your help so far. I am hunting down updates to the drivers as you recommended. I am back to BSODs during idle states. My system crashed 2-3 times in the last few days, after being up for 48+ hours previously. I've attached the files for your review.

    Again, thank you so much!

Its the same graphics driver. There have been reported conflicts with that updated driver and Windows 7.
Follow all other instructions and roll back to the previous driver. This can be done from device manager.
