slow shutdowns and then BSOD

hi all i have a shut down problem, at random (not everytime) when i try to shut down my pc it can take upto 15min at the blue windows is shutting down screen but then i get a bsod popup and my pc reboots.. so i got my 550d out and set it recording after 14min i got a bsod and this is it... i hope this will help you help me to solve this problem ive had for some time now, thank you

right for the drivers yes i have prelude sound card and i use custom drivers as the normal drivers have this pausing issue with them where the sound stops to buffer for a sec every so often. as for network drivers ill look into them now


im downlaoding and installing the latest drivers for the network my mobo site has to offer, and the sound drivers im using are

ok my friend ive installed the latest network drivers, they are listed as 7/4/2010. whats next. or do you think this was the cause


edit: after another reboot the problem is the same, same bsod after about 14min of waiting for pc to shut down

ok i have now installed every newest driver i can find for all my devices and it still stops me from shutting down 80% of the time, im out of ideas does my mini dump not give any extra evidence of whats causing the problem, ive been reading alot of other thread simula to mine and people can pinpoint the exact problem, i think this is amazing but i just have no idea how to go about this my self,

please can some one help me so i can enjoy my pc time and not have to worry about shutting down problems.

yes and it dint work mate so i installed the older stuff again so i dint have the sound pause issue.. does the file say that the prelude if the cause?

people on other forumks seem to think its a USB related issue can you find anything in the mini dump which says this then i can concentrate on this area, the only usb stuff i have is mouse/keyboard/360 wireless pad...

my keyboard is razor and my my mouse is stealseries wow

ok mate i have a way to stop these from running i have disabled all services and all starup application that i dont need, all i left running is nvidia (now ive installed without the 3D vision) and eset (antivirus)

now i can run the net + play games and not worry about virus or anything else interfering like usb device software... let see if this rules out them or not..if this dont work and i still get the shutdown issue and see as people cant find anything more in the mini dump im gona take it im screwed and i have one of these errors that no one can help me with :(

- update your bios to the latest

- type msconfig at command prompt. Click "startup" tab. Uncheck all startup items EXCEPT anything that is Microsoft Manufacturer. Reboot your system. Shut down and see if you get a BSOD. If not, recheck one item at a time on MSCONFIG until you identify the problem.

i have the lastest bios installed and this msconfig is this correct
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

i tryed this and i was 99% sure it was nvidia 3d drivers but then just about when i was about sure it happened to me :(

here what i posted on another forum, then the problem happened again... ill try the hole progress again and repost back later today

ive now disabled all start-up stuff but you only mentioned these and not services to i left the services all enabled... ill do 20 reboots per item and then i can be sure as i did alto before and thought it was nvidia but one more reboot contradicted this :(

ok it happened straight away with all start-up stuff disabled, i shut down waited 14ish min got the same bsod and rebooted.. so startup items OFF has no effect.. whats next services maybe?

heres the new minidump file, i normally restart my pc manually before this bsod happens as 14min every time feels a life time..but i let this one run though hoping it help you

ok i have decided to spend the hole night rebooting windows over and over and over. i have dissabled all serviced (not microsoft ones) and all startup items.. then i have now enabled eset (antivirus service+startup app) and i have rebooted about 40times no problems... im going to keep this up for the next 30min and then enable the next service+startup app to go with that service and then for the hour after that reboot...reboot..reboot.. untill i find a problem...

THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE LONG LOOOONG NIGHT i tell ya. i wished you could get more info from that mini dump believe me.
