Windows 7 crash. Whats the link?

Hey and Help Everyone and Anyone!

Whenever I run any of these programs, My computer locks up and produces a odd ahhhhhhhhhhh kind of noise. Its like XP error messages repeating themselves really fast. Like when you hold down a bunch of keys and it makes the 'Bong' noise.

Audacity Beta 1.3.1 (but when just starting up)
Google voice/video chat (but other webcam programs work just fine, and it happens in all browsers)
VB.Net when I use the code Console.Beep
FlightGear 64bit
Sometimes WMP12
Blender 3D when using a sphere and using Colidable Hull option
And probably others I don't know about yet.

I have tried:
ClamWin XV
SFC /scannow
Updating all drivers (video and sound included)
looking at different settings
Updating everything on my computer

My specs are:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel i5 mobile
nVidea GEFORCE GTS 360M CUDA 1gb of Vram
4GB of DDR3 Ram
Asus G60JX

As you can see, things don't lock this computer easily, so its not a performance issue. I have NO idea what the problem is, and have not seen anything simlear.

Thanks a TON to whoever helps,

Whats starting up with my windows?
Everytime windows starts up now I see 2 "pop ups" in the center of my screen, it's like a small 1x1 window, just pops up for less than a second and goes away. Makes me suspicious, how do I find out what that is?

Search link has lost the file it should link to
I worked most of today in Word on a critical document, saving the file every 10 minutes or so. I put the machine in hibernate and when I opened it back up to do more work, the file was not in the Word recent file list. Did a search (from the Start icon) and the file, with the proper date and...

OK, whats the deal with VLC in Windows 7?!
I've been looking for solutions to this problem and lurking these, and other, forums for a while hoping for a magic bullet but VLC still has worse playback than WMP12. I don't mind for most things but some files are stubborn or need to be played in VLC, when this happens I lose out on quality. Has...
