Replaced Keyboard, Since Then LONG Beeping at Start Up Screen! Help!

This is the most annoying thing ever. Finally my computer works great due to my new keyboard but sadly every time I turn on the computer it takes about two minutes to even get on, but once the beeping finally stops my computer acts normally.

So does anyone know what I can do? I saw the professional even get the old keyboard out and then put the new keyboard in, so I don't know what could have happened that caused the computer to do the beeping at the start up screen.

What was wrong before that caused you to replace the keyboard?
What type of keyboards are they, PS2 or USB?
Is the beep a BIOS beep or a windows beep?
Is it one continuous beep or a series of beeps?

Nothing vital or important, just a couple keys fell off and the hinges did as well. The button under the keys still worked though.

Well, it was included in my laptop and not via USB so I guess it is PS2 (though I am not so positive on this one)

    I don't know, how can I tell?

A very long series of beeps, and I am worried that it may be increasing in length. It is at least 25 beeps.

If you paid money to have it replaced I'd go back and have them check it again. BIOS beeps will happen during the POST, Power On Self Test. Usually you here one short beep just before windows starts up. If there is a hardware fault, you get a series of beeps. The duration, long or short, how many and what order can tell you what section of hardware has failed. if the fault is bad enough the PC won't finish the post and the OS won't load. A stuck key on your keyboard can cause what seems like a never ending continuous beep.

I still don't get it, the beeps just aren't consistent so I can't figure out what the problem is ):

IMHO, it sounds like a key is being held down all thru the boot process. The operative word there being "sounds". consider a bad KB and get the guy to replace it again. If it solves your prob, then it should come out of his pocket.

I'm thinking its a bad keyboard too. I'd go back to the guy that replaced/installed it.

I wish it was possible to just disable this. I can't buy another keyboard. And the person that replaced it for me is my Computer Engineering teacher.
