Win 7 freeze have to hard reboot

    Hi

The system started freezing when I was watching videos on VLC and WMP, usually 20 min into the movie/clip. The screen freezes completely and the sound from the movie/clip gets distorted and looped until I hard reboot. This has also occuried some times now and then even when browsing pictures on this forum. However it has never frozen when I watch a stream on youtube or other streaming sites. Does this sound like something that could be fixed?

    Here are my specs:

Operating System :Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition Media Center 6.01.7600 (32-bit)
    Mainboard : Acer JM70
    Chipset : Intel PM45
    Processor : Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2200MHz
    Physical Memory : 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR3-SDRAM )
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M
    Hard Disk 1: Hitachi HTS545050B9A300 (500GB)
    Hard Disk 2: Hitachi HTS545050B9A300 (500GB)

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
