    BSOD STOP 0x000050/7e errors

Posted this elsewhere yesterday, a brief update at the bottom.

    Specs:
    CPU: AMD 1090T
MB: ASUS M4N75TD AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
GPU: GTX 460 768 MB SSC
    OS: Win 7 64 Bit

I built it and everything has ran fine for the first week, yesterday I installed a USB sound card (it's a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo, downloaded the windows 7 64 bit drivers from the Turtlebeach.com website) restarted and everything was going fine. The USB sound card worked fine and everything was running perfectly. A few hours later the computer blue-screened and I got a USB bug error. I restarted and it started back up, something happened and it restarted again (it started up and was running then BSOD again I believe didn't see the error).

Anyways I figured it was something odd with the USB sound card so I powered the computer back up. I started windows in normal mode and as I see the windows screen with the loading bar and it BSOD again. This time it said:

    Page_fault_in_nonpage_area

    Stop error of 0x0000050

I restarted and it offered to repair the startup files. I said ok, but got the same error.

I turned off the computer unplugged the USB soundcard and then started it back up.

It just gave me a generic there was a problem BSOD with a stop error of 0x000007e.

I try to start up in safe mode, same thing.

So I think OK I'll simply reinstall Win 7 as I have my files backed up on my spare HDD. I put in the disc and press a key to start with it and it starts loading the installer up like it's going to work but BSOD again before the installer starts.

I've googled it a few times, but I can't seem to come up with anything definitive. I've tried booting in safe mode and tried not forcing drivers to be digitally signed, but even then BSOD.

Any ideas how I can fix this? Could it be that my hdd has died? It's a 2002 hdd, so I think it's possible, however I would think I would start getting input/output errors or something else instead.

I've tried using the last known good configuration as well. No luck. I've also seen Wdf01000.sys listed with the 0x0000050 stop error but that only popped randomly and not at the beginning.

i'm pretty sure it's something to do with the usb card I installed, but I can't get into the system to uninstall it.

Any help would be appreciated, is it my HDD? Any other ideas on ways to get it to start up? My computer POSTs fine and the ASUS mini os Express Gate comes up and works fine before it begins loading windows, so that makes me think it may not be the HDD after all.

As for when it is loading windows it shows the progress bar but not the windows logo. I had AVG antivirus and wasn't visiting any sites out of the ordinary so I don't think I would of come across a virus.

    Thanks in advance.

As an update, I'm not able to get any files so I'm unable to provide any logs since my system doesn't start.

Also I just tried reinstalling it again today and got an error of:

    IRQL_Not_less_or_equal
    Stop 0x0000000A

    I'm stumped....

    Please complete your system specs:

HOW TO FILL OUT YOUR SYSTEM SPECS

In the line at the top of www.SevenForums.com you will see UserCP.
That is an abbreviation for User Control Panel.
    Click on UserCP.
In the left-hand column, under Your Profile you will see Edit System Spec.
    Click on Edit System Spec
You can copy and paste from the output of Speccy, Speccy - System Information - Free Download to fill out much of the info. Be sure to use the Other Info section of your System Specs for such info as your optical drive, your wireless adapter, your speakers, etc.

    Please post BSODs as follows:

I have added the majority of my stats to my profile as requested. However as I stated several times in my post I am unable to get into Windows at all so I am unable to follow the directions in that post. I did check it before I posted here.

Edit I/O error was the CD not burning correctly.

I apologize for not reading carefully. It does sound like a hardware problem.

    Hard drive test
    http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html
    http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

If the hard drive passes, test the memory by pulling one memory stick. If that fails, swap sticks.

    Other questions:
    - did you change any bios settings?
    - is anything overclocked?
    - can you boot up using a live cd/dvd (e.g., Ubuntu, Knoppix)

It's cool, I know you guys probably get a lot of people that can post those that don't read that post.

No bios changes save for boot order over the past day or two.
    Nothing overclocked.
I haven't tried a live CD yet, but I will if the hdd diagnostics scanner you linked (have a WD drive using the Hitachi one on Carrona as the author mentioned) doesn't show any problems.

I'm really leaning toward it being an HDD problem since I can't even get into windows setup, if this diagnostic doesn't find a problem it will be quite a conundrum indeed.

As for the RAM I'll try that as well, though I doubt it as the ASUS motherboard has a memory checker in it and there is no problem according to the LED there. Also it ran perfectly for a week, (and from the PC Probe program ASUS provides nothing got overly hot), doesn't seem likely that the memory would go bad. If the HDD passes the tool then I'll of course give that a try too.

Sorry to double post but I have new info.

After the drive test was done it came up with no problems.
I then decided to take out a stick of RAM, I took out one and powered it up, got a bios beep but nothing on the screen, I powered down and took out the one I had left in and put in the other stick. It is currently running the Windows Startup repair tool, (which it never ran before) so it looks like this could be it, will edit this post when I have more info.

That would be good news. Sometimes it's just a process of elimination.

And I believe that's the problem, I still need to let it run for a while, but I've restarted and tried to put the other stick in BSOD, took it back out and it works, so it seems one of my sticks of RAM is bad. Gotta contact Newegg/Corsair. I'd like to leave this open for now in case something else is up, but I'm thinking this is it.

    Thanks for the help.
