I get a bluescreen when I run a utility that is supposed to be a feature of the notebook(has a hotkey on the notebook and a big sticker!!TDE+ cpu and gpu turbo). It seems to run fine otherwise. It may be worth pointing out that I live in Thailand and everything was installed in the shop/stall that it was bought from. Notebook: MSI GT663R-i7488BLW7P

Hi Craig,
You have several problems.
First you have only 1 hotfix installed so I suggest you go to Windows update then install the other hotfixs.
For troubleshooting purpose, it's better to uninstall AVG and replace it with MSE. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
One dump file point to nvlddmkm.sys as the cause, so I recommend you to reinstall graphic drivers.
While reinstall, better to remove current driver with driversweeper then install the fresh copy of nVdia driver. Guru3D - Driver Sweeper Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
Another dump point to ntfs as the cause.
It's related to file system so you must perform check disk:
Right click Command Prompt → run as administrator → chkdsk /f /r
Update these drivers: Code: Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP (8 procs) Free x64

Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa900a756018, memory referenced.
Arg2: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: fffff88004bd1142, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
address.
Arg4: 0000000000000005, (reserved)

HI, Craig. Wish suggested that you update a couple of drivers. I still find one of them loaded on your system. This driver is way obsolete. Uninstall Intervideo. This is XP software is not going to run on Win 7 except in the XP mode.
I also see AVG still loaded on your system. Wish's advice is spot on. Remove AVG using this tool: Tool (64 bit). If you have Identity Protection installed, remove it with this tool: Tool. AVG is a known cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

thanks guys ...
I uninstalled an old version of winDVD8 that was on my notebook and that was the only thing i can see that was connected to intervideo, but regi.sys was not removed. Just gonna download a trial version of winDVD2010 and see if that updates the driver...
If it doesnt any ideas on how to get rid of this? I will also run memtest tonight. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number msi gt663r OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU core i7 q740@1.73 Memory 12gb Graphics Card nvidia gtx 460m |

Craig, so a search of your C: drive for regi.sys. Rename it from .sys to .old. Reboot and it will not load. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

thanks Carl,
okay... so i used the AVG removal tool, renamed the regi.sys and I ran memtest for 10 and half passes (0 errors). Now it has'nt blue screened the last few times when I press the turbo button but it freezes instead so I dont get a dump report.
I am thinking a fresh install of windows as I dont know what else to do, but there are a few things I am not sure of...
1/ do I just install from the disk or should I format first(if so how).
2/ when my machine was setup it was partitioned which I am a little confused about as I have 2 x 500gb but configured as a raid drive . I am not sure how this is working as I have 100gb 400gb 500gb drives showing up in my computer so how does this raid stuff work??
3/ When I reinstall I would like to make the partition smaller maybe 70gb but I dont how to do that either :P
thanks,

Craig Craig, post these questions in the Installation and Setup section: Installation & Setup - Windows 7 Forums. You will get better answers than I can give you from the Gurus there. I am not very knowledgeable in this area and I do not want to give you bad advice. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB
