Random Bluescreens, please help me find the source.

Ok, so since I bought and assembled my PC about a month ago(running x64 home edition), I have been getting random bluescreens. I used Bluescreen view and it seems that all my BSODs are caused by ntoskrnl.exe. And from what I have been able to gather is that it is caused by a corrupt Windows install, bad drivers, or a bad HD. I would appreciate it if you guys would be able to help me narrow this down so I can get this taken care of.

Thanks for any help and guidance, it is greatly appreciated.

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I have ran memtest 86 and let it run overnight(about 12 passes I think) with no errors. I will try to uninstall Daemon tools, see if that does something, thanks for the quick reply.

Hi Edgarion, and welcome to the forum. I looked at your three most recent dumps. Each shows a different bugcheck code and that usually means a hardware or hardware related issue. All three dumps indicate memory corruption.

To begin your troubleshooting, i suggest that you uninstall Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% or whatever CD virtualization software you are running. It uses a driver, found in your dump, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads. Select uninstall; do NOT select reinstall.

Here is a free alternative CD virtualization program that does not use the sptd.sys driver.

Well, I got another BSOD today, and I ran another perfmon /report and it found that some USB drivers were not installed properly. I just updated them, so hopefully that will fix it. If not, you guys will hear from me again.

Do update us either way and let us know how your system is doing.

Well, I just got a couple more bluescreens yesterday. I think I may be able to narrow this down to RAM, but let me know what you guys think.

I have ran dskchk and it had no errors. Also, random programs will just crash. For instance, I was loading up League of Legends, and before I could actually join the match, it would crash. I tried about ten times, even rebooted my PC to no avail. Also, sometimes a Google Chrome tab will just crash. And on one instance, the browser would just crash and crash until I re-installed it.

But anyway, the dmp files are attached, so any help is appreciated guys, thanks.

It still looks like memory to me, but I could be wrong. If you have two or more sticks of memory, just leave one in the first slot (pull the rest). If you BSOD, swap memory for second stick. Let us know what you find out.

Would there be an easy way to "force" a BSOD? Would running ortos stressing the RAM work?

Try running Prime95 following the instructions in this tutorial: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs).
