    Back screen of Death?

    Hey everyone!
Well today one of my friends told me that her computer is really messed up. She told me it gives her a black screen when she turns it on and it won't even take her to the log in screen.

    something like this
    Attachment 132081

She told me that she didn't have a Anti-Virus and downloaded things from limewire
So I'm not sure if downloading thing from limewire did it.

I'm not sure how I can help her.
She also told me when the black screen comes up, that it just shuts down.

Is there some way i can help her?

    Re-format Hard Drive
    Re-install Windows
    Install AV Microsoft Security Essentials

    Stay of Limewire.

It's the only way. You could be running round in circles for eons!!

Is there a way i can get a windows vista 32-bit to re-install it for her?
I know how to do it, just need a disk
Yeah I told her to stay off that, and when I can find a disk for her I'll install the anti-virus.
I'm not sure when type of vista she has tho.

The only way (with Vista) I can think of, is finding someone with the same "type" of Vista and borrowing it, e.g. Home Pro etc.. As long as you have the licence key it should install OK.

I could be wrong. I've never had Vista, re-phrase that, I have a broken lappy with Vista to mend (one day!!)

I think I know how, check the sticker and it must say what it is right?
If I find out the type of vista she has, is there a way to get the disk?

I think borrowing CD/DVD of same Vista type should be okay as long as you have your own license key. Microsoft should make it able to download installation if you enter your key (/and register) if they dont do it.
