    Multiple BSOD


    I believe it is a driver issue however I have updated all of my drivers that I can think of. I was using an Nvidia G Card and switched to ATI (Motherboard supports Crossfire for future use) Me and a Friend have been trying to fix the problem to no success.

    Is Windows 7 . . .
    - x86 32-bit
    - the original installed OS on the system? Windows XP Corporate upgraded to 7
    - an OEM or full retail version?
    - Windows 7 Upgrade is Full Retail the XP was my dads.

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? December 26th 2010 Was the first use
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Have reinstalled multiple times for various reasons but they were all clean installs (wiping the HDD). Otherwise Dec 26th 2010

    Several problems

    1- Five year old ATItools.sys file remove and install the newest driver only

    When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

    When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

    2-Symantec Remove and replace with Microsoft Security essentials

    Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support

    3- Pool corruption test your memory with memtest

    Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.


    Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

    Thanks for the information however I have done the memtest before and let it run through all passes and it came up clean. I will try it again if I brought the CD with me to college.

    Every time I try use the Guru Driver Cleaner and I hit restart my computer It Blue Screens and I believe that screws it up. Any advice?

    Edit- Also the Symantec I use isn't listed on the site. It is a Gov't Issued version I got because my dad worked for the Navy. Would any of those removal tools work on it?

    I uninstalled both the ATI driver and Symantec from Windows Control Panel and Installed Windows Security and new drivers from the ATI website. I will restart my computer after the Windows Security scans to check for a blue screen (I always get a BSOD on shutdown/restart).

    Edit: Also used CCleaner to clean the registry after I uninstalled the above.

    Update: It Blue Screened on Restart So I will be giving the Memory Diagnostic test (MemTest86 v 4.10) right now. I am attaching the last Blue Screen Error Report to see if you guys can help with why it Blue screened again. If you reply and it is not a memory issue you message will be sent to my blackberry.

    Memory Test was a 100% success but I still get a BSOD upon reboot. I reran the requirements for the BSOD error and have another zip file full of the dmp files (the old and new ones).

    I could be Hardware issue. You have any external devices connected ? Because the stacks are pointing to ready boost.

    I have a WebCam and Mic set up at the moment. I do have a internal DLink adapter but I am not using it and most likely going to take it out because it is out of date. Doing the Scan now
