    TF2, Batman AA, BFBC2 BSoD/white screen

Hello all, i'm new here, been tryin a few forums for help.

I think i've come to the right one, so.

a while back i played Batman AA through with no issues, also 124 BFBC2 hours played, and a couple of TF2, with no issues.

so, i'm not sure where this has started.

i've tested my Ram, with no issues found.
done a command SFC /SCANNOW.. there used to be no issues, but 1 popped up recently.

don't know if it has anything to do with my issue in gaming or if it's even critical, you tell me.

so, things i've done that might have triggered these BSoD's and Video Test Screen crash, i tweaked the settings in Catalyst Control Center for Performance.

Upgraded from Vista to Windows 7

Drivers updated, but did a fresh install just recently, didn't work.

i have a dump file but won't let me upload. Do i need to change the .dmp to a .txt?

i read it with some tools, it's indicating that there is a conflict in my driver hence the fresh install of them, but it didn't seem to help.

Should i try tweaking the Catalyst down from performance settings and such that will disable Adaptive Anti Aliasing ?

playable games currently with no issues include: World of Warcraft, Left4Dead2, Metro 2033, Dirt2, and many more.

please post soon, this problem has haunted me for quite some time, and i would like to be able to play those games again.

Hi PhantomU and Welcome to SF!!

Go to your C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Copy the .dmp files to a new folder on your desktop. Zip up that folder and attach to a post.

Hi PhantomU, to get you started....

Your .dmp file is pointing towards your Catalyst drivers. However older and outdated drivers can and will cause problems, more than likely leading to BSOD's.

    Outdated drivers to update:

AlfaFF.sys Fri Feb 29 16:00:58 2008 AlfaFF File System mini-filter Monitor Network Edition.

    iaStor.sys Fri Jun 05 02:42:33 2009 Intel Rapid Storage.

    int15.sys Wed Oct 01 06:29:49 2003 Acer Empowering Technology

    k57nd60x.sys Thu Sep 04 04:12:54 2008 ??

    NTIDrvr.sys Wed Mar 25 03:09:51 2009
UBHelper.sys Mon Apr 27 09:48:28 2009 NTI CD & DVD-Maker or NTI Backup NOW! or NTI CD-Maker by NewTech Infosystems. Check OEM.

    mwlPSDFilter.sys Tue Sep 23 04:53:08 2008
    mwlPSDNServ.sys Tue Sep 23 04:53:01 2008
mwlPSDVDisk.sys Tue Sep 23 04:52:50 2008 EgisTec Inc. Fingerprint Biometrics

    nuvotoncir.sys Wed Jun 24 13:03:18 2009 Nuvoton Technology driver

    o2mdg.sys Thu May 07 06:40:53 2009
o2sdg.sys Thu May 07 06:38:52 2009 Memory Card Reader driver by O2Micro/Fujitsu "media slot" or OEM

    skfiltv.sys Thu Aug 14 07:48:20 2008 Creative wireless headset

SynTP.sys Fri Feb 27 23:43:54 2009 Synaptic Touch Pad Driver

    atikmpag.sys Thu Jul 16 20:09:54 2009
    atipmdag.sys Thu Jul 16 21:24:59 2009 Catalyst Drivers

Many people are having issues with Catalyst 10.12. See this thread.
It might be an idea to download one of the Previous Catalyst Versionsbut one a lot newer than your current ones!!
Download and install Driver Sweeper. Boot to safe mode and run Driver Sweeper to uninstall your present Catalyst drivers. Then install the "new" Catalyst drivers.

Hey, i have fixed my BsoD's, reinstalled my windows, did a custom install of drivers and such.

but there is another problem, some say it's related to my video card being lose, or dusty, i suspect that it's not the case.

only in World of Warcraft does this NOT happen

it has happened in all my first person shooters, what happens is, my sound begins to stutter, screen goes black, and then into a video test screen, red, blue green, gray stripes etc.

i don't see any dump files for this, and never waited for over 5 min to see if my video would pop back up, so i consider it a hard lock.
