Windows 7: Constant blue screens of death.

20 Jan 2011   #1

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Constant blue screens of death.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
- the original installed OS on the system? No, the computer came with windows XP. (32bit)
- an OEM or full retail version? Full.

- What is the age of system (hardware)? Not sure about 2 years.
- What is the age of OS installation? I reformatted my PC a few days ago.

Hi, I've had this problem for along time now and i never had the time to take care of it untill now.
I have been getting random blue screens of death now and then.(atleast twice a week)
The main driver that i see in all crashes is ntoskrnl.exe.
And i don't think its my ram since i removed my ram sticks and inserted a completely new one and i still keep getting BSOD's

Remove any Zone Alarm software using the removal tool
If you don't use Zone Alarm update your networking drivers

Code:
BugCheck D1, {1, 2, 1, fffff88001573b44}

Probably caused by : NETIO.SYS ( NETIO!KfdClassify+8c7 )

Hi krazy7

This driver is very old and is known to cause BSOD's:

ASACPI.sys Mon Mar 28 03:30:36 2005 Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility Link to MB WIN7 ATK

Driver Install - Manual method

Download the driver and extract it to a folder
Open the Device Manager
Right click the relevant device.
Choose Update Driver Software.
Select Browse My Computer For Driver Software.
Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Select Have disk...
Select Browse..
Navigate to the extracted folder and double click on the .inffile
Hit OK, then Next, and it will then install.

You could check for updates to your nVidia card.

Although yours is OK, there is a later version of your Nod32 AV (good choice!) if you want to update that as well.

Thank you for your help, I've updated the asus driver. (The driver version should be 6.1.7600.16385, driver date 6/21/2006 am i correct?)

Right now i am downloading the updates for my nVidia card.
And if you could link me to the newer AV version that would be nice.

The Asacpi.sys you downloaded is dated the 13th (32bit) or 14th (64bit) May 2009 in the Windows 7 folders.
Go to your C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder and r-click the actual driver to check the properties.

ESET v4.2.64(trial) or v4.2.67(licenced)

I just got 2 more blue screens of death AFTER updating all the drivers.

Is the minidump enough?

We can now rule out drivers (Good job with ASACPI.sys BTW!).

Although your two dump files have different stop error codes, BE & D1, they are both blaming hardware.

IP_MISALIGNED is usually (?) RAM, CPU, Motherboard.

2gb of RAM, yes? Is it 1x2gb or 2x1gb? If 2x1gb, are they a matched pair? (Same make, model, timings)
Are you overclocking?
Are the timings right?
Download and install CPU-Z. Take screenshots/snips of the Memory and all the SPD slot tabs in use. Attach the images to a post.
Is your BIOS up to date?

TESTS:

Run Memtest86+ overnight for 7 passes / 6-8 hours. If errors appear you can stop.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

The one i am using right now is 1x2gb but i also have 2x2gb (Matched pair) and i get blue screens of death on all of them.
I am not overclocking.
I am not sure if my BIOS is up to date (How can i check this?)
(Which one of the Atheros drivers should i download?)

And im gonna leave memtest overnight for a scan.
