BSOD, won't open in Safe mode

So, about a week ago the sound stopped working on my laptop. A customer service guy from Dell wlaked me through installing a new sound card. It fixed my sound! I was so happy. Oh, but the excitement was short lived. About a half hour after installing the sound card, my computer randomly shut down. When i turned it back on, i could not open it correctly. Upon typing in my password , I encountered a BSOD. The happened many times.

I tried the whole 'last known good configuration' but it did not help.
For awhile I was able to boot it to safe mode but now it will not due that. I encounter a BSOD attempting to open anything. This is why I am unable to attached the files that I am supposed to in a BSOD thread.
research online has me convinced that it was some type of faulty sound card I installed.

any advice on what to do from here?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 that has Windows 7, which was installed when I got the computer.
annnny advice would be so appreciated!!!!!
    thank you!!

Do you have a Windows CD you can boot from? Since you get a BSOD booting into the safe mode, I suspect a hardware problem.

Unfortunately I don't have it, I am currently studying abroad in England and did not think to bring the cd with me. Kicking myself.

See if you can borrow one or boot from another OS disk to see if your system will even boot. If you have access to another computer, follow the instructions in this tutorial and then using the CD you created, test your RAM with Memtest: RAM - Test with Memtest86+. Memtest runs outside of Windows.
