    Having contact Blue-screen Problems, Cant figure it out

    Hello Everyone,

    I recently started getting blue screen problems, i looked into the issue a little by using blue-screen view and looking at my mini-dump files, but i'm not familiar enough with this stuff to be able to pinpoint out a problem... It appears to be a problem caused by the Kernel but i don't know where to look from there.

    The problem started quite recently, since then i have taken any new hardware out, and deleted drivers to try and pinpoint where the problem could be coming from, but the blue screen has still been popping up, and always at random times.

    Ive also experienced a couple hard freezes, even on startup, before windows even begins to load... This is leading me to believe that it may be one of my main pieces of hardware that is failing.

    So Ive come here hoping you guys can help me, and possibly pinpoint where my problem might be coming from.

    My computer was built my Cyberpower, and is running windows 7 home premium 64bit.

    Here are some specs.
    AMD Phenom II X4 955(3.2GHz)
    4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333
    500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM HDD
    24X DVD±R/±RW Dual Layer Drive
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT 1GB PCI Express Video Card
    700w power supply
    It has a Gigabyte Mobo in it, not sure what model, i can get it if needed.

    I attached what is asked in the BSOD instructions post. If you need anything else just let me know

    Thank You
    Yakima

    Hi yukima and Welcome.

    Your latest dump file is pointing towards the Windows System file which is highly unlikely to be the cause.
    You have several outdated and old drivers you should take care of.

    The dmp(s) point to ntkrnlmp.exe as the probable cause. We know this is not the case, as these are core OS files, and will definitely not cause a BSOD. They are just the default files the debuggers blame when they can't see a better cause. You need to enable driver verifier to help pinpoint the faulty driver...

    - Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    - Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
    - Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
    Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
    - Select "Finish" on the next page.

    Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part). Upload the new .dmp files as they occur.

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    I can't even get the computer to start up anymore... I didn't make any changes since i last uploaded my dump files. The computer is crashing on the boot menu, freezing solid, so i cant even choose if i want to start in safe mode etc. I got it started in safe mode once, and it frooze in there also.

    I'm leaning towards this being a failed piece of key hardware in my system. Because its crashing before drivers are even loaded (I think)... Or maybe im wrong i dont know.

    Yes, that does sound like a hardware problem. Specifically, I would guess RAM, but I suppose the hard drive would be my next guess.

    Create a Memtest86 CD or USB drive, and boot from that; see this guide: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    The DOS version of SeaTools is worth a shot for your hard drive.

    Well, I updated the drivers that Tews Pointed out. I noticed that my computer would crash as soon as my usb wireless adapter would go in, I got rid of the driver, tried to put a new one in, but no luck there. So i know the adapter is part of the problem, but ive still crashed without it in there.

    I haven't done the memory test yet, Ill let that run over night tonight on one stick. I noticed when i opened my computer up that the heat sink over my north bridge is really loose, are these things usually glued down? Although it is being held on with the little spring pin things.

    I'm uploading my newest dumps so you guys can take a look to see if anything else has popped up. The tag in the blue-screen is now mentioning something about memory corruption.

    I really appreciate all the help from you all.

    So i did the Memtests, 10+ passes on each stick, all sticks came back with no errors.

    Have you run Memtest on all the sticks at the same time? If not, try doing so.

    Also run the hard drive diagnostic I mentioned in Post 7.
