ok where to start, i bought my pc about a year ago from PC world, no OS disk was given to me OEM or otherwise at purchase. Recently i got the BSOD which came up with "IRQL lesser or not equal" amongst a few other errors which came up after a few times of me rebooting.
After changing Ram sticks n so on i decided to try and do a "format" via the HDD as its only a gaming pc and i have no sensitive or needed information on there. used the option via F8 which gave the option to restore with keeping my files intact which i did and on "initial setup" it crashed completely, left it for the night and in the morning still the same so reluctantly decided to turn it off. Upon restarting it was running through to "windows is applying settings" and would continue to hang in the same place.
I then decided to try again, using F8 didnt bring up the "repair computer" option so i used alt+F10 and got into the menu again, which i decided to fully restore to factory defaults.
same thing happened again and i decided to give up on it but i went out and bought a new OS disk as i have a laptop which i could put it onto which is gathering dust and thought i could use that to repair my PC and then install on my laptop.
Main reason im writing this long winded message and asking on here is because im not 100% sure on how to do a full format with setting partitions and so on. i loaded the PC with the disk but i havent seen nor found an option to "format" and is there anything i should know?
Sorry if this is in the wrong area for this kind of question.....
