Chinese language added automatically to the system? How come?

    Hey guys,

I've done some searching but couldn't find an answer.

I have a very strange thing happening on my machine: Win7 Home Premium x64

Normally, there are 2 languages available in my "Region and Language" setting in Control Panel: English US and Hebrew.

Once in a while (lately it's been happening almost every day!) the Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) locale is added to the list of available languages in the language bar. It does *not* appear in the available keyboards in "Region and Language", it appears only in the Language Bar.

When I press Alt-LeftShift to change language, I can see EN, HE and CH which is really annoying.

The only way to remove it is to restart the machine, but it comes back quite quickly.

What on earth can be causing this?
    Anyone has any idea?

Thanks for any help or pointer,
    Moti

Check your computer's startup list (Start menu > type msconfig, hit enter.)

Do you see any IME entries listed?

From my own experience, when I installed an Office 2007 language pack, the Japanese pack. It did not just register in Office 2007. It created an entry in the startup items, an IME entry. Making it one of the installed system locales-- but not keyboard input.

Accidentally installed by Windows Update perhaps?

    Thanks for the replies.

I checked the startup - nothing about IME.
There is a pretty long list of updates in the windows update history screen. Not sure what I should be looking for, there.

The strange thing is that I see the language in the language bar but it doesn't appear in the list of keyboards installed. How can this be?
