    It said the webcam was made by Bush on the packaging, as well as on the manual, the installation CD (if I still have it - I pray I do), as well as the back of the webcam itself.

    On the subject of uninstalling the drivers before installing the new one - would that be possible with all drivers, or only on drivers for peripheral devices? I can't imagine it'd be a good idea to uninstall the drivers for internal components, surely that would just stop them from working at all, making you unable to get the new driver installed?

    Here is a link to the webcam in question. This is actually where I bought it too, although it was marked down to about £15.00 in a sale at the time, which is the only reason I bought it.

    Also dug up some info on Bush themselves. Turns out they are an "operation" for a British retail giant - probably why you've never heard of them.

    You can only uninstall drivers if there's an option to uninstall them. They are generally located in one of 3 places:
    - the Start Menu
    - the Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program applet
    - the Device Manager Right click on Device and select "Uninstall". If there's a box to check that says "Delete the driver software for this device" then you can remove it that way.

    Uninstalling drivers is done at your own risk. Backup your stuff, set system restore points, and rename rather than delete (if possible). But, even so, if you delete the wrong driver - you may not get back into that copy of Windows again. The good news is that if you have a backup copy of the deleted driver you can usually replace it from outside of Windows - and that will usually fix the problem.

    If that doesn't work, then I'd have to recommend not using the device any longer (or, at least while we're troubleshooting). I suspect that no one is supporting Win7 for this device. We can attempt to force installation of Vista drivers - but that doesn't always work out very well.

    I have renamed the sncduvc.SYS driver, the webcam one. I'm just about to download and install the new driver, and will let you know if everythings fine once I've tested it out after the install.

    Ok. I tried downloading and installing the driver using the llast link you provided. Unfortunately, it gave an error again. Nothing in the way of information; just a message stating it was an unrecognized device, so I'm assuming that isn't going to work at all. I've replaced the original driver, and tested it to make sure the webcam still works.

    From now, I'm assuming I should just disable the device and rename the driver, until we're done troubleshooting?

    Yes, disabling it is the next best thing - and renaming the driver from .sys to .BAK will prevent it from loading.
