Windows 7: New Hardware BSODs

New Hardware BSODs

Recently I had my PSU die and when removing it I cleaned out the computer, and either when the PSU died or when I was cleaning out the computer, my CPU died too. So I went out and bought a new PSU, CPU, Motherboard, and RAM. I installed it all, installed Windows 7, started installing my programs, and started getting BSOD's non stop. I tried everything to stop them, guides, reinstalling drivers, the works. I managed to get it fairly stable and actually thought I'd fixed the issue until about and hour ago I got another BSOD after not getting one for a week. The BSOD's most of the time don't give me an error message although I did get a number in the past listing different drivers. The one I got today gave no info though. I am running a virus scan right now to see if that picks up anything but I highly doubt that's the issue. Only thing I haven't done though that I could think of doing.

I'm using a full retail version of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Most of the hard ware is no more than 2 years old. The OS its self was only installed about 2 weeks ago.

I've attached zip files of both the sets of files from the BSOD posting instructions and the SF Diagnostic Tool.

Any help is greatly appreciated, it's not fun getting a BSOD occasionally and losing everything :/

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Just got another BSOD. The first error code ended in 0x1. The rest were just all 0's.

On a side note, my processor is still using the stock fan. I have bought a water cooler for it but it looks like because of my chipset the motherboard might need to be RMA'd so I've been waiting on the news before redoing everything in my PC to get the new cooler working. I haven't seen the CPU temp go much over 60 degrees but could that be the issue?

Some more info, I'm using MSE not Norton and I did try the Driver Verifier think, but after it posted to the dump file I got lost and wasn't sure what to do with it. Ive also tried a memory test and chkdsk but neither showed anything wrong with the hardware.

Hi xFyrios and Welcome.

Your Driver Verifier enforced dump files blame mcdbus.sys which is the MagicISO SCSI Host Controller driver. Update or uninstall MagicISO.

Usual causes:
Device driver, hardware, System service, compatibility, Remote control programs, memory, BIOS.

Your latest dump file blames nwifi.sys which is a Windows System file and is highly unlikely to be the cause.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes.

As a Priority:

Sort out MagicISO

Outdated Drivers. Update:

ALSysIO64.sys Sun Apr 19 20:41:04 2009 Core Temp - CPU temperature monitor. Update or uninstall.

PxHlpa64.sys Wed Jun 24 00:16:35 2009 Sonic CD/DVD driver. Used by many different programs.

Drivers with Updates:

nusb3hub.sys Fri Apr 23 02:34:35 2010
nusb3xhc.sys Fri Apr 23 02:34:36 2010 Motherboard USB 3.0 drivers.

RTKVHD64.sys Tue Nov 02 11:25:59 2010 Realtek HD Audio R2.57

windows 7 ultimate

I've just installed MagicDisc/MagicISO to see the latest driver date available.I let it do a default install. After a re-boot I had my first unenforced BSOD since setting up eight months ago. Uninstall it!!

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I have now completely uninstalled Magic ISO, it worked fine on my old install if Windows 7 so not sure whats changed with it but it's not a big deal, I don't really need it anyways.

I've also updated CoreTemp to the latest version although it is simply an exe and doesn't install any drivers with it. Am I missing something?

None of the listed programs that apparently use PxHlpa64.sys I have installed. I do have Photoshop installed (not lightroom) but nowhere can I find anything saying it uses that driver. I do have a dell monitor but I never installed Dell Media Experience (don't think it even has anything to do with my monitor). So not sure what to do with that driver...

I have now updated my realtek driver, thanks for the link btw! Couldn't find a newer driver for the USB ports though. I updated it using the driver on my motherboards website which says it is for Windows 7 x64. The actual manufacturer of the USB device though didn't provide any drivers (or rather, if they do, I'm not seeing them!).

Thanks you very much for the help!

Hope your problems are sorted. If not, hell, you don't know where I live!!

I think (not sure, I use Speedfan) they dropped the driver with older versions, as now you can get a portable version.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Sorry, forgot those. I've attached all of February's dump files, the ones spanning from the 7th until today. Today I got two more BSOD's. The second being the same one I listed above, the first said Interrupt at the top, had the stop error 0X0000003D and at the bottom said:

dxgmms7.sys - address FFFFF8010D5DEDE base at FFFFF88010052000, date stamp 4d3f9174

My computer was left on for two days before getting todays 2 BSOD's so maybe it has something to do with overheating hardware?

BSODs, possible faulty hardware but not sure...
Hi Everyone, My PC recently crashed, i.e. would not boot into Windows and I had to reinstall. I thought I may have fried the processor by overheating it (apparently I did not apply the thermal paste very effectively when I assembled this thing back in 2011...) but that does not seem to be the...

Hardware Runs 32-bit fine but BSODs with 64?
Hey guys, I have a Toshiba Satelite A205-S6810 laptop, and I had been having a lot of random boot crashes and BSODs at startup when I was trying to run the X64 version of Windows 7. For the fun of it, my friend told me I could try his 32-bit disc for a while to see if it worked better, and lo and...
