Low Virtual Memory Win 7 causes freeze

This morning I changed the page file to be set by automatic.

This afternoon while working on the PC the same Windows message came up saying that it was out of VM please save and close down etc...

I only had a few min and managed to run a few tools to records what was going on. I found out that Commit Charge is 5.7GB and is continues to grow. Bur then the Physical memory is 1.5GB. (Pictures attached)

When I run Process Explorer and sorted the data nothing seems to stand out to suggest it could be a memory leak. (Picture attached)

I'm missing something out?

Since the machine was brought.

This only started happening near xmas and Panda was installed few months before.

I have other machine which have Panda installed and do not have this issue.

..anyhow, it never hurts disable it and see if the problem resolves. It's an easy fix if so since you can get microsoft security essentials for free now. ...I guess what I'm driving at, is it's status on your other machine doesn't even apply, as the AV issues seem very unpredictable.

Have you tried cleaning your startup using Msconfig?
Just trimming down on background applications that run automatically may help. Not too mention 90% of them still function fine if they are only started when needed instead of running at every boot.

I've done a msconfig and trimmed down everything to the bare essentials.

Is there any way of noteing which program or file causes this error OR which program is raising up the commit charge to 5gb as the picture above?

Could it be a driver issue?

p.s. really appreciate your help.

The PC is running fine now, shall I go and create the dump report down or shall I wait until the message appear again and then create the dump file while the commit charge is high?

Hi Golden,

I've had a look at event viewer and could not find anything, what I found was when the message was displayed on the screen I traced the time on the VM message and looked to find anything on the application list. The only log I could be was a Outlook issue which if I can remember was only a warning. But this was few min before the VM message appeared on the screen.
