    BSOD after clean install

    Hi,

I put myself up-to-date with the posting rules regarding BSODs. Thanks for that.
Now, attached is the archive with the reports as posted in the posting instructions and below the answers to the short quizz:

    Windows 7 x64
original installed OS: Windows XP Professional
    full retail version
hardware age: 5 years or so
OS was re-installed about a week ago

I really need some guidance regarding these BSODs 'cause they seem, to me, at least, pretty random.

    Thank you,
    Vlad

Only 65 hotfixes listed on your system, my system has 87 - so please check with Windows Update to ensure that you have all available updates (each system will be different).

Daemon Tools is known to cause BSOD issues due to it's sptd.sys driver
Please uninstall it, then use this free tool to remove the troublesome sptd.sys driver: DuplexSecure - FAQ - Remove 64 bit sptd.sys

6 memory dumps over 8 days
    4 different BSOD error codes (0x3B, 0x1A, 0x50, 0xA)
2 different causes blamed (ntoskrnl.exe, win32k.sys - both are Windows drivers)

Most likely this is a driver problem, but there is a possibility that this could be a hardware problem.
As such, I'd suggest the following:

First, uninstall your VMWare programs (it appears that you've updated it recently). Some of the drivers in there date from 2008, and I have seen a couple of problems with VMWare recently. Once we're finished troubleshooting, feel free to download the latest version of the program and install it.

Next, uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials. IMMEDIATELY download, install, and scan your system with the latest version.

Next, update your chipset drivers with this free update from Gigabyte: GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-EP43-DS3L (rev. 1.0) Select Windows 7 64 bit as your OS, then download the "Intel INF installation driver".

Update your video drivers by downloading this driver and installing it on your system: NVIDIA DRIVERS 266.58 WHQL

Finally, update your LAN driver with this driver: Realtek and select the "Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1439536"

If all of this doesn't fix your issues, please post back and we'll try running Driver Verifier on very strict settings in order to isolate the bad driver ( http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html ).

Then, while waiting for a reply, start these free diagnostics:
I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: http://www.carrona.org/malware.html (read the details at the link)
