    BSOD on shutdown

    Hello

I have started suffering from SERVICE_EXCEPTION_ERROR BSODs when shutting down my PC.
I haven't made any changes recently apart from the scheduled windows updates last Wednesday however this only started yesterday.
All my drivers are up to date to the best of my searching so I'm at a bit of a loss. Could someone have a look at the crash dumps and see if there is an obvious cause?
I only seem to have 2 files in minidump however it has happened a fair few more times than that.

    Thanks

    Hello,

The first dump blames AVG Identity Protection. Honestly, at this point, I think it's best to remove that completely, using the tool found here: AVG - Download tools

If the BSODs persist, run driver verifier: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

After you've had more BSODs caused by driver verifer, please upload a jcgriff2 report: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Great thanks for that. I'm just backing stuff up then I'll run through those steps and see if I get anything.

    Hello

I have removed the AVG IDS software.
I did get 2 page fault in none paged area BSODs after posting but memtest shows no issues however I now have a problem with windows backup: https://www.sevenforums.com/performan...ml#post1242531

There is an output from the bluesceen reporting tool attached to that post but as suggested I have come back to this as its likely to be the root of all evil/the problem.

After enabling the verifier i got a bluescreen on reboot but only the one...so far. I have attached the dump file, hope its useful.

    Hello,

I am still seeing some AVG drivers on your computer. If you have not uninstall it, uninstall it now. Use this removal tool to delete every AVG left over files: AVG - Download tools

Use Microsoft Security or Avast and Windows Firewall in it's place.

    Try update these drivers.
    ctac32k.sys Wed Jul 02 20:38:22 2008
    Creative Sound Card

    dsNcAdpt.sys Tue Mar 31 15:33:33 2009
Network Connect VPN software by Juniper Networks

    pcouffin.sys Wed Dec 06 03:39:30 2006
Used by many CD/DVD programs (if you do not know what program uses that driver, rename the driver - see note below).
       Note
Renaming drivers: create a restore point, using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers or to wherever the driver is located, locate the driver files, and rename them from .sys to .old. Reboot and the drivers will not load. This will break whatever software or hardware these drivers are associated with Pcouffin.sys

I'll run the remover however my AVG is a paid for copy so unless its proved to be the source of the issue its something I'll end up re-installing, less the IDS part anyway.
I've checked the creative site and they claim I have the latest version of the drivers for my card but they don't seem to produce updates all that often. The Juniper driver is provided by the VPN concentrator at my work and I don't think its something I can really update. Did the latest dmp file show anything of worth? I've also had another BSOD this morning when booting that seemed to look the same as the file above however it has not produced a dmp for me to post

You may ask AVG support for a refund for your paid AVG product.

Can you give me the model number of the Creative Sound Card? There may be additional info for me to check.
The Juniper may work fine with Windows 7.

I suppose I could but its unlikely I will get a refund unless I can prove its the issue.
I've run the removal tool, ended up in safe mode as the PC wouldnt get past BSODs again. Back in now though but yet again no dmp files have been produced in the minidump folder.
The sound card is a X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro.

I'm still getting BSODs on boot up now.
Had 3 or 4 saying the IO manager had detected an issue with error code of 0x000000C9 and one with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and despite it saying it was dumping to disk there is still nothing new in the minidump folder.
Is there somewhere special I should be looking for dump files with the verifier enabled? If not any clues as to why I'm not getting any?
Ultimately anyone got any next step suggestions?

I have run the BSOD script again just in case it has any more info in.
