I screwed up my Icons, do not display correctly

    i wanted to Thank you again for helping me solve my icon problem. it was really driving me nuts. anyway everything has been working fine. i have tried to go through each disabled service but i still have not located which one. i have run a trend micro scan and nothing came up, but i am going to keep looking.

    Trend micro itself could possibly be the problem. It's rare but sometimes third party av/security suites cause issues with some win 7 machines.
    Assuming your windows is legit. You can just use microsoft security essentials in its place. In that scenario I would also get the free version of malwarebytes antimalware and scan manually now and then.

Icons not displayed correctly

Hello folks. My desktop icons displays like attached file I have already tried rebuilding icon cache but it didn't solve the issue. Tried system restore as well but no respite. What else could I do ?
the folder icons in my homegroup (when I'm accessing shared folders on my media pc) have become corrupted after I installed some stupid skinning software, i've even tried a system restore to a point long before the dam thing was installed and it still hasn't sorted the problem, does anyone know how...
