    re-booting

I have serious problems with a configuration failure. The configuration fails and starts to reboot. However, I can not get the computer to stop rebooting. Tried it in safe mode, tried to abort the restart in safe mode, tried "last good configuration" in safe mode. The thing just continuously reboots. How do I stop this?

Are you actually able to get to the windows welcome screen before the reboot?
    If not, try this method
    Startup Repair

If it does get to windows before resetting, the easiest fix would probably be this
    Repair Install

This is of course assuming the problem is windows, and not your hardware.

Thanks for the help, But, I can't even get to that point. It goes through a ten minute start up process, and just flashes the icon (fuzzy). Then goes to a blue screen. Says it's configuring, then says configuration failure, then restarts. It simply just won't let me get past this point.

Was this after an update? At any rate, you could try a system restore, predating the issue. You'll likely need to use method 2:

    System Restore
