Windows 7 Keeps shutting down

Hi,

Today my computer has started randomly shutting down. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd really appreciate it. When I restart I get this error message:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 124

BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: FFFFFA800495C8F8
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\021811-15132-01.dmp

C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-30388-0.sysdata.xml

This is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. This OS was bought full-retail and installed on the system 5 months ago. That was the only time the OS was installed, there have been no reinstalls. The age of the hardware/system is the same, 5 months.

Thank you.

You have 64 Windows Updates installed, I have 87 on my system. Please check Windows Update to ensure that you have all available updates (you may not have the same number as I do - but it's a place for us to start from).

The memory dump info that you posted showed a STOP 0x124 error. This is a hardware error reported by your CPU to Windows. As such, there's not much info that we can understand. But, we know it's most likely a hardware error (although compatibility issues may be more frequently on older hardware with Win7), followed by compatibility issues, then other driver issues.

So, please have a look at this topic for assistance in troubleshooting STOP 0x124 errors: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

From earlier in the month (in the System Log file):

Description:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR4.
So, please do the following:

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
Quote:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Scanners (read the details at the link)
Back around 15 Feb the system was deleting a user profile (Kids) - were there any other system files deleted?

This is most likely a hardware issue (but this is by no means certain) - and the only error that I could locate was with the controller to your hard drive. Running the hard drive diagnostics will tell you if the hard drive is dead/dying. If not, then we've gotta look elsewhere for a cause.
