attempting fix, let me try it.

nope, didn't work, but it still was helpful, Bluescreen view is highlighting ntoskrnl.exe every time, what could this mean?
BlueScreenView does not provide accurate results. ntoskrnl.exe can lead by conflicts, antivirus, old drivers, etc....
If you got more BSOD, upload them.
I will, it is running pretty stably (except one prog which, instead of bsoding now, just freezes my comp) if I get one I will though.
I have some new observations:
a.) When I boot in safe mode, it stops at classpnp.sys for about 20 seconds then jumps to the winlogin screen, then after about 5 seconds, it shuts down and restarts.
b.)when I hit repair option it tells me it couldn't start (error c0000000e)
c.)when I use the disc to start, It gets to the background for the wallpaper, but no GUI starts up.
should I run a full (instead of abbreviated) RAM test tonight?
well, RAM scan was clean.
Run System Restore and restore to a point before the problem started.
umm, about that, I don't have one....
