Windows 7: BSOD After Waking, Win7

BSOD After Waking, Win7

Hi all - I am usually pretty good about troubleshooting and finding fixes for PC problems, but I'm throwing the white flag up for this one.

I am getting the BSOD every time I wake up this Win 7 PC from Sleep Mode. The error code on the BSOD indicates this is probably due to a conflict between Win 7 and my 2TB Seagate HD, but since I cannot read the DMP file with Wordpad or Notepad (more frustration), I can't be certain.

Also, I've tried off and on for two days to download the jcgriff2 BSOD tool and cannot get the download to complete. I'm having no other problems with accessing websites, etc.

Hopefully, the attached zipped DMP file from today will provide you gracious experts with some helpful information.

Additional system info:

Windows 7 Professional 64bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 870@2.93GHz
8GB RAM
Seagate 2TB HD
System is five months old. Built by my local PC shop and came with Windows 7 installed. No OS reinstalls, and no drivers have been updated.
No Norton Products installed.

The local shop is asking me to log this "beast" to their shop for troubleshooting, but I hope to keep that as a last resort.

Thanks in advance for any help.

(I may not be back online until tomorrow morning, but appreciate all replies.)

~Clair

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am sorry you are having problems. Please read this tutorial and follow the instructions. The additional information will help us help you better. http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Your dump does indicate a hard drive or memory controller problem.
Quote:
Bugcheck 7A, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. Usual causes: Memory, Paging file corruption, File system, Hard drive, Cabling, Virus infection, Improperly seated cards, BIOS, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack
Start by checking all of of cable and wiring connections to make sure they are secure. Then test your hard drive with the tool from from Seagate.

I really recommend that you take your computer to the shop and let the Techs sort it out while it is under warranty. In the long run, it may save you a lot of aggravation. If it is a hardware problem, they need to solve it for you.

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000020, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000009d, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: fffffa8009495078, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: 0000000000000000, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)
