    sfc /scannow error

Ok so here is my problem yet again. I am trying to install adobe Photoshop and am getting an error : exit error 6. I do not know why, as it says my operating system is not supported when it is. One of the fixes is to run sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt. Now I have came across this command numerous times and it has always given me this error. I have checked everywhere and even called Asus support and to no avail, besides they say its a problem with Microsoft. So anyways, I enter the command and it says
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

Then delivers me back to the command prompt. I have done alot of Google searching and to no avail. Thanks in advanced.

Just wondering where you got the copy of Adobe Photoshop? (if it is from the Internet, what website?)
What Photoshop are you trying to install? (e.g: CS5, 7, 8, etc...)

    Hello kaoticsolja.

See if booting to do an sfc /scan will help, have a look at this tutorial at the link below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

I tried it and got the same error message. I also tried to just do a system repair from the disk and it finds no problem. And the adobe photoshop isnt the problem, I have other programs like my printer driver that wont install (all legit)

I have tried everything from running in safe mode to using this offline command and still nothing sfc /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=c:\ /OFFWINDIR=c:\windows

Why on earth would you use Startup Repair? It has NOTHING TO DO with the programs. Startup Repair ONLY FIXES startup problems (e.g: verify and fix corrupt OS files, repair BCD/bootmgr).

You have not yet answered my question,
