After installing an Nvidia 8400 graphics card, my computer has been incapable of shutting down without having to pull the plug on it.

Could you provide more detail? Please run Furmark to see if there are any GPU errors.

The log flows from bottom to top. Just look for the Description of each event.

The event following the sleep command is:

The browser has forced an election on network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{60C846D5-56C4-44F2-8576-552E35D3F560} because a master browser was stopped.

Leave it for some time. No, it will NOT burn your graphics card.

Run the Furmark Test for few hours - I will grab the owner (Jonathan_King) of the Furmark tutorial (I did not make that tutorial at all...)
