    Windows Explorer Crashes periodically.

Hi all. I know this may be complicated (it is to me ) but I was hoping someone may have a solution as it's extremely annoying.
I'm running an HP DV6700 (DV6885SE) laptop with win 7 Pro 32 bit installed. When I first start the machine there's a 100% chance that Windows Explorer will crash if I right click on "Computer" (which I have on my desktop, not a short cut) or "Recycle Bin" (also not a short cut).

But, If I first right click on my Documents (shortcut on desktop) before right clicking Computer or recycle then all runs fine. This problem happens at start up 100% of the time and it will also happen if the machine has been idle for a couple hours or so. The error I get in the system log at the times of the crashes is:

"The HomeGroup Provider service depends on the Function Discovery Provider Host service which failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it"

When I go to services and try to start "The HomeGroup Provider service" (which is set to automatic) I get the message. "Windows could not start the HomeGroup Provider service on local computer. Error: 1068. The dependency service or group failed to start".

Once again, I know this may be a very complex problem but I'm hoping that someone with a lot more smarts than me can point me in the right direction as I have no images to fall back on before this problem started.
    Thanks all
    D.

Do you have any of the same programs installed as I have?
They're listed below, don't pay any mind to the "unknown" lines. They dont represent programs.

    ps: I'm not a :dude" :)

    Thanks

    Hello,
    Please do a sfc /scannow
It will fix and verify corrupt OS files.

No errors according to sfc /scannow.
sfc /scannow says all clean but the same problems still exist.
    Thanks for the suggestion :)
