Windows 7: My Windows 7 crashes when I play any videos....

I currently changed my OS to Windows 7 Ultimate x32 from Vista Home Premium x32. My laptop is Acer Aspire 5920G with NVIDIA GEFORCE 8600M GT 512MB graphic card.

I installed Microsoft Office 2010 but when i tried to open the program, it crashes and my laptop restarts. Also, when I tried playing any video, it does the same. Other than that, my Windows works fine.

I'm not so good in computers and am trying to figure out the problem. Please help.

Were gonna need a little bit more info here. It's a clean install or an update? Have you run any tests? Memtest+ for RAM/FurMark for video card? Do you get any blue screens or just restart? Please read this first: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

It's clean install. I gave my laptop to my friend who has the windows 7 CD and couldn't go see him again anytime soon as he and i are living 4 hours away from each other. I'm not sure if he has done any test on the video card. I get a blue screen before it restarts.
