Hello and first I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and any help you can provide..

Well I have been battling this problem for a week. I like to think I aqnm pretty computer savy but this one has me stumped. I opened a file on the internet and it GOT ME.. Computer locked up and restarted... now i can ony go into safe mode.. I have tried the following.. Repair my computer, Ran virus scans, took HD out and attached to another computer ran scan, removed all hardware and restarted.. removed Ram, ran scandisk.. chkdisk, bootsect /nt60 All..... all to no avail...
I have gotten the following BSOD's
IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (Mostly)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
REFERENCE_BY_POINTER
SYSTEMS_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (mostly)
in looking at the .dmp files the BSOD seems to center around the ntoskrnl.exe driver.. but I am not sure what or where it comes from

PLEASE HELP.. I hate to have to reinstall everything..

I have an image but have been having issues with windows 7 finding it on an external drive AAARRRRGH!!

Specs are athlon phenom 9500 2.20 Mhz
8GB Ram
ASUS MB
Windows 7 x64

ASACPI.sys the 2005 version is a huge cause of BSOD's

   Information
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).
Code:
ASACPI.sys fffff880`04a00000 fffff880`04a08000 0x00008000 0x42476c4c [B][COLOR=Red]28/03/2005 [/COLOR][/B]06:30:36
Update your Acronis software, the driver it uses is obsolete http://www.acronis.com/main.html
Code:
tifsfilt.sys fffff880`06400000 fffff880`06417000 0x00017000 0x46d56889 [COLOR=Red] 29/08/2007 [/COLOR]16:37:29
timntr.sys fffff880`0189d000 fffff880`0194d000 0x000b0000 0x46d568bf [COLOR=Red]29/08/2007[/COLOR] 16:38:23
Remove any LogMeIn software as the process was involved in the crash
Code:
PROCESS_NAME: LogMeIn.exe

TRAP_FRAME: fffff88007f113d0 -- (.trap 0xfffff88007f113d0)

This suggest a hardware fault with the HDD, are you using a raid setup?

well I would like to thank you for all your help.. here is a tip for everyone that is having a problem. YOU SHOULD BACK UP THE IMAGE OF YOUR C DRIVE USING THE WINDOWS 7 UTILITY.

I decided I could not wait any longer and basically used a image that I created (first time used) about 1 week ago.... THIS IS WHAT SAVED ME from doing a fresh install.

So in short back up regularly using the image.. then if you have a problem you can always go BACK to your image. Just remember it will format all the drives attached even though you select C, Z to restore, AND you have to remove the date from the name of the backup folder so windows will see it...

Thanks again for everyones help
