Windows 7: win7 BSOD... very random.

win7 BSOD... very random.

Hello! I seem to get a smorgasbord of BSOD, but they tend to not follow any distinct pattern. I've had a bunch of different error messages, but since I have it on restart after crash, I haven't really had the chance to write any down. Regardless though, they're different from my current one, which I can read since it's actually STUCK on "initializing disk for crash dump" :/

The current BSOD is: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFF80000E7B0C0, 0x0000000000000008, 0xFFFFF80000E7B0C0, 0x0000000000000002).

I have run memtest86 before for a good 6 or 9 hours, with no errors detected. No viruses reported or anything on malwarebytes either.

drivers are up to date to my knowledge. I am aware of issues with the ATI graphics drivers causing BSODs, but even going back many versions does not seem to help.

If you need added info, please say so as said before, I do not believe this BSOD has a dump file, as it was stuck on initializing.

2. Only if crashes persist after you have updated the ATI driver, replace Avast with MSE:

avast! Uninstall Utility

https://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

3. Install Service Pack 1.

You can get it via windows update, the download will be smaller.

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff880051c77ac, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: fffff88005de9788, Exception Record Address

Bam! was checking mail/browsing, and got a system 32 exception BSOD. Forgot to uncheck restart automatically so I didn't get more info... I thought I got a .dmp file, but it shows it was "last modified" on the 20th of january. So I guess it didn't save? :/

What info do you need for this one?

done. Is that the cause, or just part of some more tests? (if the former, any free solutions to replace it with? :P)
