    No beep on start up wont go past grey screen.


    My computer as started to stay on grey screen and when i shut it down and start again it goes into repair mode then tells me it cant repair and is shutting down after shutdown i start again and it slowly comes back to life,i have also noticed no beep at start up,ive tried f8 but cant find safe mode,also on xp i could restore back weeks on this ive no idea how to do this, yep computer illiterate silver surfer

    Problem is it wont reboot without going through the whole repair again shutting down and hoping it starts.
    F8 does not bring up safe mode or black and white page nor can i find last known good configuration.

    Use your Windows 7 DVD to do ram test.
    Check your ram.

    done the mem test found nothing and rebooted back fine .

    Thankyou still have to shutdown to check what hd i have in to check that, i think its a Seagate 160gb and im told im running 64 bit but with the help provided here im sure i will find cause,thanks again.

    Sorry tried rebooting after trying repair it gave up so i rebooted and it started,tried the hard drive diagnostics you gave me but it didnt do 64bit advice,please

    As you have a Seagate, you can download the LIVE CD, & run Hd Diagnostic from boot.
