| Windows 7: BSODs on new computer build |

BSODs on new computer build I have just built a new computer with brand new hardware that is windows 7 compatible. When i first started it up there were no problems for ages but all of a sudden i started getting frequent random BSODs of all different kinds. i tested and tried everything i could think of and i found that i had some old drivers which i updated, my RAM was set wrong which i manually set to the manufacturers recommended settings and that i had 1 bad stick of memory which is being RMAed at the moment. These fixes didnt help, the BSODs still came all the time randomly and with various Stop errors. so i resorted to doing a clean re-installation of my OS. I made sure everything was done correctly and that all my drivers were 100% updated from the start and everything seemed to be working fine for a few days - but now it has started happening all over again, same varied BSODs, frequent and at random times. (0x24, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0xD1, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x3B, 0x1E etc....) I have barely installed any new software after the re-installation, just been browsing the web mainly.
This is what i have done from the beginning to attempt to fix the BSODs:
-Updated all drivers using DriverMAX
-Monitored hardware temps - normal
-Ran sfc /scannow - no errors
-Ran chkdsk /f - no errors
-Ran HD tune - no errors
-Ran Prime95 - no errors
-Ran Memtest86+ for 8+ passes for each stick individually in same dimm and tested each dimm - found 1 bad stick of ram - RMAed
-Set RAM settings manually to manufacturers recommended settings
-Clean re-install of windows 7
Comp specs:
-Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (upgrade from windows xp home edition)
-Asus M4A87TD/USB3
-AMD Phenom II X4 3.4Ghz 965 Black Edition
-EVGA GTX 470 1280MB
-Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue SATA
-8GB (4X2GB) Corsair XMS3 1600 DDR3 (only 4GB (2X2GB) installed at the moment)
-Creative Audigy SB
-Tenda Wireless N300
-Corsair TX 650W
-Ben Q LED LCD G2222HDL (plug and play)

Hello and welcome to Seven Forums,
Please remove DriverMax - those crapware cause nothing but problems.
Remove AVG including Identity Protection - known cause of BSOD on some Windows 7 Systems. Run this removal tool when AVG is removed: AVG - Download tools Replace with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
Lastly, upgrade to Service Pack 1: Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
If problem persists, enable Driver Verifier: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Regards...

Thanks for the reply
-DriverMAX removed - are the drivers that i installed with DriverMAX bad? should i uninstall them?
-I had MSE in the first place and didnt have AVG on my computer but i ran the removal tools anyway just to be sure
-Service Pack 1 installed - didnt realize that it was not automatically updated already
Will let you know if i get any more BSODs

Classic. the second i write that the BSODs start up to the point where i can even get a BSOD report or a Perfmon report.
-i hadn't restored back to before drivermax was install bec i thought everything was ok.
-tried to restore but there were no restore points before i installed drivermax so im in the process of doing a clean install of xp then windows 7.
-this time i will find all the drivers from the manufaturers web sites and see if that does the trick
will keep you updated | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz Black Edition Motherboard Asus M4A87TD/USB3 Memory 8GB (4X2GB) Corsair XMS3 1600 DDR3 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 470 1280MB Sound Card Creative Audigy SB Monitor(s) Displays Ben Q 21.5in LED LCD G2222HDL PSU Corsair TX 650W Case Coolermaster Elite 335 Cooling Coolermaster Hyper 212+ Hard Drives Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue 7200RPM SATA |

hi
I have done a clean install of windows 7 and have completely updated everything including service pack 1.
I have also installed/updated all the drivers i could think of from the manufacturers web sites.
As it is still early on and i dont seem to get BSODs until everything has been running for a while, so i haven't gotten one yet, but i am skeptical.
i did a Perfmon report and it didnt look good. it says my cpu, graphics, disk, and memory are performing poorly which i can't really understand bec everything is brand new, good quality and updated. it also said that my hardware/hardware drivers tests have fail just like before when i was getting loads of BSODs.
-thats the main reason im feeling like im just waiting for the inevitable BSODs to start at any time.
the perfmon report is attached
thanks | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz Black Edition Motherboard Asus M4A87TD/USB3 Memory 8GB (4X2GB) Corsair XMS3 1600 DDR3 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 470 1280MB Sound Card Creative Audigy SB Monitor(s) Displays Ben Q 21.5in LED LCD G2222HDL PSU Corsair TX 650W Case Coolermaster Elite 335 Cooling Coolermaster Hyper 212+ Hard Drives Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue 7200RPM SATA |

-here is the jcgriff report.
-also i was looking back at the old perfmon reports before i reinstalled windows 7 and there were no issues with my cpu, disk, memory, or graphics performances.
-should i try a system restore to before i installed any drivers on this new clean install and see what the perfmon report is? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz Black Edition Motherboard Asus M4A87TD/USB3 Memory 8GB (4X2GB) Corsair XMS3 1600 DDR3 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 470 1280MB Sound Card Creative Audigy SB Monitor(s) Displays Ben Q 21.5in LED LCD G2222HDL PSU Corsair TX 650W Case Coolermaster Elite 335 Cooling Coolermaster Hyper 212+ Hard Drives Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue 7200RPM SATA |
